Seneca Ridge Middle School tuba and baritone students recently joined more than 300 musicians for a “Tuba Christmas” at the Kennedy Center.
This 38-year tradition brings tuba, sousaphone and euphonium players from around the Washington, D.C., area together to play traditional Christmas music. Seneca Ridge Band Director Laurel Phillip became the group’s “second conductor” by conducting the back half of the group. There were so many musicians they all couldn’t see the conductor in the front.
