GREETINGS FROM MR. MICHENER
June 14, 2010
Dear Lincoln Families,
My name is Dave Michener and I am thrilled with my recent appointment as the next principal to serve Lincoln Elementary beginning July 1st, 2010! From the positive remarks Mr. Johnson has shared with me, I am excited to become acquainted with Lincoln’s children, parents, staff, and community during the upcoming school year. This year will be an opportunity for me to serve as the principal of two small western Loudoun schools. Lincoln Elementary is an outstanding school and I am confident that we will work together to continue celebrating the school’s rich traditions.
My career in education began seventeen years ago as a fourth grade teacher at Hollywood Elementary School in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. After three years in my first assignment, I taught third and fifth grades at Twinbrook Elementary School in Rockville, Maryland for four years. While teaching at Twinbrook, I completed my Master’s Degree in School Administration from Johns Hopkins University. After teaching in Maryland for seven years, my career path turned to Loudoun County when I was appointed to the assistant principal position of Sugarland Elementary from 2000-2004. For the past six years, it has been my privilege to serve as principal of Hillsboro Elementary School.
I feel fortunate to work for Loudoun County Public Schools and anticipate meeting everyone in the coming months. I know that by working together, we will continue to provide an excellent education for each child at Lincoln Elementary. I appreciate your support and look forward to the 2010-2011 school year.
