| Mrs. Abell is very excited about another year at Frances Hazel Reid. She taught in North Carolina before moving to Loudoun and has loved every minute of being around the world’s best children (in Loudoun County, of course). Mrs. Abell earned a BS Ed. in Music Education from Western Carolina University. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Orff-Schulwerk from James Madison University. Mrs. Abell has chosen the Orff approach in her classroom because she feels like it gives the students the best hands on experience for music. And even though it may sound as though there is nothing but noise coming from her classroom, rest assured that there is also learning. She loves to read, run, swim, and play the piano and saxophone. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her daughter and husband!!!! | |
Mrs. Baker is in her 6th year of teaching in Loudoun County. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and is working to complete to Masters in Music Education. Mrs. Baker's instruments are guitar, keyboard, percussion, and voice. She taught K-4 general education for 4 years at Homespun Schoolhouse, a Charlotte Mason School that she and other teachers created in Winchester, VA. She has also taught music and developed curriculum for pre-school. Mrs. Baker is looking forward to a magical year at FHR. |
