After you read any of the Battle Books on the shelf, please create some questions for us to use in our mock battles.  The questions need to begin "In which book...".  We also need quotations that stick out in your mind from the stories.  Please send your contributions in to us on the blog for each book on this page.

All rising 6th graders who participate will qualify to come to our Icecream Party in September and serve on the Discussion Panel that will teach the 3rd-5th graders about Battle of the Books and answer their questions.

For reading the minimum books to participate in the battle over the summer, each student 3-5 will be invited to the Icecream Sundae Party in September where the 6th graders who participated last year will serve on a question and answer discussion panel.
3rd graders must read a minimum of 5 books to participate in the battle of 2014.
4th graders must read a minimum of 7 books to participate in the battle of 2014.
5th graders must read a minimum of 10 books to participate in the battle of 2014.

This is only the recommended minimum.  The more books you read the better prepared your team will be for competition, so there is plenty to read during the year.  You can read 20 and complete the Catoctin Summer Reading Challenge.
