J. L. Simpson Middle School Student Council Activity (SCA) is an extra-curricular activity that meets once a month after school. Each History/Civics class selects a student council representative at the beginning of the year. The representative must be reliable, enthusiastic and energetic. They must be interested in helping our school and community, as well as interested in learning about democracy and leadership. The student council representatives share ideas, interests and concerns from the student body in a diplomatic forum. They also help plan school-wide activities, community projects and school initiatives.
