Department Overview The Department of Instruction provides leadership support, direction, and resources in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to create a climate of success for all learners.
The Office of High School Education works collaboratively with the Department of Instruction and High Schools to systemically promote individual achievement and post secondary readiness. Responsibilities Principal Supervision Support and evaluate High School Principals and Academy of Science Director, and their leadership towards school and division goals. School Improvement Planning Provide direction, resources, and participate in the process of school improvement planning and goals development. School Operations Advise and assist High School Principals, Assistant Principals, and Academy of Science Director in the monitoring of school operations and specific related policies. Budget Assess and provide annual staffing and instructional materials allotments to all high schools and the Academy of Science. Professional Development Conduct routine meetings and workshops with High School Principals, Assistant Principals, and Academy of Science Director to discuss relevant information and engage in professional dialogue and reflection based on data and relevant information.
