Forget-About-It Fundraising!
"Banneker Makes A Difference"
Banneker really can make a difference and we are out to do it! We are involved in several programs that will make a difference in our student's lives, our community, and our environment.

Helping Our Students:
Banneker Elementary is enrolled in several fundraising opportunities through local merchants. Please take some time to "follow the links" below and register for these programs. These programs help our school raise needed funds for activities that are not covered due to budgetary restrictions. The best part? It doesn't cost us a thing! By registering with these merchants we will receive funds based on the total amount of sales accumulated by our Banneker supporters throughout the school year.
Again this year, Banneker is continuing to collect "Box Tops for Education" as well as Campbell's Soup "Labels for Education". Schools enrolled in these programs receive funds for the box tops and labels that are collected. This program has been very successful in the past and we hope to continue that success.

Helping Our Community:
In conjuction with River Bend Middle School, Banneker has been collecting "pop tops" to help support the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House recycles these and gets paid by the weight. Last year, with very little student involvement, we collected 56,000 tabs! This year we would like to involve our Banneker families and see how many we can collect. A lot of canned goods now come with pop tops- soups, salsa, dips, cat food, and sodas to name a few. Please wiggle the pop tops off and throw them in a baggy. When you have a bagful send them in. They can be dropped off in the main office or in the computer lab. For additional information about the Ronald McDonald House and the pop top recycling program please visit their website.

Helping Our Environment:
With the help of the Banneker community, Mrs. Heskett, the Technology Resource Teacher, is raising funds for the computer lab AND helping the environment by recycling empty ink cartridges. She is working with a company that will pay for the empty ink cartridges and recycle them appropriately. Please send your empty cartridges (ink jet and deskjet) to the Banneker computer lab. Ask your neighbors, family, friends and employers if they would also like to "donate" their empty cartridges. It's a "Win-Win" situation!

Please visit the following sites to register for Banneker.
