The mileage club will began on Tuesday, April 9th at 7:15 am in the gym and will continue until Thursday, May 23rd. We reviewed the rules of the club and all the incentives that go along with membership! Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning from 7:15-7:45 that your child is in attendance, we will meet in the hallway by the Custodial Office past the cafeteria after your child has come through the gym doors and placed their belongings against the bleachers.
During the mileage club, your child will be given a card with his/her name on it. Every time a lap is completed the card will be punched once. Once 5 holes are punched, one mile is completed. Once 25 holes are punched, 5 miles are completed and your child will earn a reward. Many rewards will be given throughout the 6-week program. This year when your child has completed a marathon (26.2 miles), your child will receive a special treat!
The Rules of the Mileage Club are:
1. Students will be polite and respectful to instructors, volunteers, and other students.
2. Students will respect the field and any other equipment used at Liberty.
3. Students will conduct themselves in a manner befitting to any school event or Physical Education classroom.
***Instructors have the right to remove any student from the Mileage Club at any time if the student cannot abide by the rules stated above.***
We look forward to working with each of you. There will NOT be Mileage Club if it is raining or has been down pouring during the night, which would cause the track to be wet and have puddles everywhere. A poster will be placed on the gym doors stating there is no Mileage Club due to a wet track. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know at 703-957-4370.
Keep on moving,
Laura Wrighte and Rick Stakel
