Scholarship Highlights:
 
The Sallie Mae Fund Unmet Need Scholarship Program
This program is intended to supplement financial aid packages that fall more than $1000 shor of students' financial need.  Recipients will be selected based on financial need and awards will range from $1000 to $3,800.  See Mrs. Black in the Career Center for more details or log on to www.thesalliemaefund.org.
 
 
The Granville P. Meade Scholarship makes awards through the Virginia Department of Education to Virginia's public and private colleges for students who have "achieved academically, but who are financially unable to attend college."  You will need a teacher recommendation in addition to the completed application.  Please see Mrs. Black in the Career Center for an application, which is due in Guidance on March 7, 2008.
 
Kohl's Kids Who Care Scholarship Program
Help Kohl's reward kids whose volunteer efforts have made a positive impact on their communities.  Do you know a kid who has cleaned up a park, initiated a food drive or worked with the less fortunate?  Kohl's Scholarship Program plans to recognize more than 1900 kids and reward over $300,000 in scholarships and Prizes.  Please see Mrs. Black in the Career Center for more details on nominating a deserving student.  Applications are being accepted through March 15.
 
Nordstrom Scholarship Program - 2008!
This is for current juniors!  If you have a GPA between 2.7 and 4.0, can demonstrate financial need and have a strong resume of community volunteer activities, you may qualify for one of five awards of $10,000 each.  Essay and personal statement are also required.  Please see Mrs. Black in the Career Center for an application and additional information
 
Bailey Family Foundation
The Bailey Family Foundation desires to reward high school seniors, who have demonstrated scholastic achievement, balanced with community service or other extra curricular activities, with an educational scholarship to continue their postsecondary education. For more info, go HERE
 
Criteria:
 
Possess a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5.
Demonstrate financial need.
Be a Graduating senior from a participating high school listed on the application.
Applicants must be US citizens.
Applicants must be pursuing their undergraduate degree.
