Technology in the Curriculum:
Classes are using productivity, research, communication,
curriculum software and the Internet.  The computer lab is
scheduled for class use for technology integration activities.

Students in grades three, four, and five use the NCS Learn
software program, SuccessMaker, to reinforce math skills and
concepts.

Students in all grades will work with Accelerated Reader, a
software program that encourages children to read a variety of
books and, in the process, earn points toward special awards.

A full-time technology resource teacher provides model lessons
and resource assistance for classes and trains teachers on
particular technology skills. A technology assistant, assists in the
computer lab.

Training for Faculty and Staff:
Numerous workshops are planned this year for teachers after
school and our faculty will attend professional development
sessions throughout the year sponsored by Loudoun County
Public Schools.

School Network:
Our network of over 200 Dell Optiplex 755 Pentium 4 computers are
used by all in our school.  Students and teachers have access to
individual and group shared documents and folders stored on our
network drives.  Mountain View is a wireless campus with two mobile carts of eleven wireless laptops. A T1 line allows speedy access to the Internet.

School Web Site:
The Mountain View Elementary School Web Site is an ongoing
project.  Please direct any questions to Pat King,TRT.
