·        Introduction to emergent and beginning reading books

·        Using Big Books and Rigby Books for pre-reading/reading

         skills

·        Continuing the development of letter recognition and  

         letter/sound correspondence

·        Track learned text/print matching (left to right, top to 

         bottom)

·        Use interactive word charts

·        Recognizing rhyming words by sound

·        Recognizing and using learned sight words in reading and  

         writing

 

Language Arts~ SOL: English K.10-K.13

·        Choral reading

·        Participation in large and small group discussions

·        Using journals, class books, and writing center  

         to emphasize learned skills

·        Verbal recall of full name, birthday, and phone number

·        Recognize first and last name in manuscript

·        Write full name

 

Social Studies/ Science~ SOL: Science K.1, K.2, K.4, K.5

                                           Social Science K.1, K.3, K.6

·        Daily calendar

·        Using manipulatives for recording

·        Continuing graphing, rote counting, and estimation

·        Shape identification and patterns (simple and complex)

·        Classifying objects by size, color, and shape

·        Number concepts: Counts aloud to 50

                            Counts objects to 10

                                             Recognizes numbers to 20

                                             Writes numbers to 10

                                            Matches numbers to 10

 

Social Skills~ SOL: Social Sciences K.7, English K.3

·        Cooperating with others
