Karen Moore ~ Second Grade Teacher

Mrs. Moore has been a second grade teacher at Leesburg Elementary since its opening in 1980. She previously taught at Lucketts Elementary and Banneker Elementary. Mrs. Moore has a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Radford University with additional credits from the University of Virginia, George Mason University, and Salem College. She lives just outside of Leesburg with her husband, daughter, and three small dogs. She enjoys biking and kayaking with her family and reading in her free time. This year Mrs. Moore will continue to address students’ individual reading needs through assessment and application of the core elements of the Pathways to Literacy program. Another goal is to integrate the more technology throughout the school day. Mrs. Moore is looking forward to an exciting year with her second graders.
