Welcome to the Horizon PTA website. {Turkey Trot} Results2 Mile Challenger Course Results:1st Place Winner - Dillon Kane Top Boys Finisher and 2nd Place - Ryan Schulien 3rd Place – Tommy Hjort Top Girls Finisher – Nicolette Blackwell Top Teacher Finisher – Dennis Racke Top Mom Finisher – Laurie Rea Top Dad Finisher - Stephen Godek 1 Mile Course Results (3rd to 5th Grade): Overall Winner –Marat Snyder Top Girls Finisher - 3rd Grade: Brook Hartzell Top Boys Finisher - 3rd Grade: Sam Radomsky Top Girls Finisher - 4th Grade: Julia Pimento Top Boys Finisher - 4th Grade: Jackson Booth Top Girls Finisher - 5th Grade: Theresa Neglia Top Boys Finisher - 5th Grade: Nick Neglia ˝ Mile Course Results (K to 2nd Grade): Overall Winner - ˝ Mile Course: Blake Hartzell Top Kindergarten Girls Finisher: Erin Faughnan Top Kindergarten Boys Finisher: Luke Slack Top 1st Grade Girls Finisher: Kelsey TerHaar Top 1st Grade Boys Finisher: Martin Witt Top 2nd Grade Girls Finisher: Sidney Kane Top 2nd Grade Boys Finisher: Aidan Smith The top student finisher for each event was awarded a free pair of kids running shoes (appox. $60 value) from Potomac River Running. Each of our top adult finishers will be the lucky recipient of a pumpkin pie (from our very own Market Day!). All other category winners will received an framed award certificate, which may be picked up in the front office tomorrow. This event has grown every year and our ability to make this fun and rewarding is also based upon the selfless contributions of our parent and staff volunteers. There is no way that I’ll remember to mention everyone (so I apologize now if I omit anyone!), but a special thanks goes out to: · Jon Wesoky, who has taken on course management for the last two years · Laurie Bickart (Amaiza Fitness), who assists Jon with the course, heads up sponsor recruitment and fills in wherever she’s needed · Denise Steele, who works with Laurie on sponsor recruitment and does all of the odd jobs no one else will do · Lisa Karlan, who manages registration and race day check-in · Ellen Wesoky, who has taken the lead on the awesome Pancake Breakfast for the last two years · Mrs. Toynbee, who is our staff lead on the Pancake Breakfast and who helps recruit staff volunteers · Lisa Abercrombie, who developed an awesome logo (with her sister) for the 2nd year in a row · Jeff Bickart, who helps us keep the website updated and developed graphics for us at the last minute without complaining J · Our P.E. teachers, Mrs. Booth and Mrs. Cooper-Barlow, who have been encouraging all of our kids to “get out and run” and not only talk the talk, but walk the walk…glad both of you came out to participate · All of our friends and fellow parents, who stepped in to help with a bunch of small jobs on the day of the event to make everyone run smoothly Jingle Bell ShopChildren will be able to shop for parents, siblings, and other family members and friends at prices ranging from $1.00 and up.
